Touch screen one-stop info kiosks to enhance Abu Dhabi visitor experience

The first six in a series of information kiosks developed by Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) have been installed at key visitor sites around the emirate.

The kiosks - which are a one-stop bank of visitor information for attractions and facilities throughout Abu Dhabi emirate - are now in place in Marina Mall, Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre, Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) headquarters and Abu Dhabi Duty Free in the UAE capital and in Al Ain Museum and on Sir Bani Yas Island in the emirate's Al Gharbia western region.

These are the first of 25 kiosks which are due in place in malls and heritage centres throughout the emirate by the end of January 2009.l

"This visitor service initiative will greatly enhance the tourist experience within Abu Dhabi emirate,"


said Saeed Al Dhaheri, Acting Visitor Information Manager, ADTA.

"The kiosks are an A to Z of essential information, in English and Arabic, on attractions and events and will assist in spreading knowledge of the emirate's expanding tourism product proposition."

ADTA plans to have all the kiosks operating in five languages - with French, German and Russian capabilities being added - by the end of next year.
