Qatar banks require minimum deposits

Banks in Qatar have begun to implement a minimum initial deposit to open a savings or current account. Most banks are insisting that customers pay an initial deposit of QR3,000 to open a savings account and QR5,000 for a current account. Doha Bank, Standard Chartered Bank and Commercialbank are all enforcing the regulation.
