Road safety is becoming one of the region's most serious public issues as it affects everyone, whether driving, walking or cycling.

Understanding and practicing road safety is everyone's concern as it could save lives. The objective is to get people to make the behavioral adjustments needed to make the roads safer for themselves and others by driving within the speed limits thereby reducing the number and severity of accidents. The way to do this is by informing and educating the public about the risks of the road in order that they understand that speeding poses a danger not only to them but also to those around.

Insurers have access to huge accidents databases that can be exploited to better understand accidents and to analyze how to reduce them. For this reason, Axa Group believes it has a social role to play and has a policy across the world to promote road safety. Axa started its road safety initiative twenty years ago called Axa Prévention and this has been implemented in various countries around the word on different levels. The aim of this association is to educate drivers on the importance of being sensible while on the road.

Alexis de Beauregard, Chief Officer Marketing & Retail product offering explains:
"We are proud to be associated with Dubai Police for such a good cause and would like to thank the authorities for inviting us to be associated with this campaign. The association follows an initiative launched by Axa Group in May this year to enhance the Axa brand across the world to become the Preferred Insurer by being attentive, available and reliable through tangible proof. This campaign falls in line with this strategy and is yet another tangible proof. Therefore, if you think you are a safe driver you can get a 5% discount during the campaign."

Axa believes in rewarding safe drivers - the ones without any claims. If you are a claims free driver, that means you are a safe driver too. That's why Axa is very happy to associate with Dubai Police for this kind of campaign.

Preventing road accidents means protecting yourself and your loved ones and improving your quality of life. That is why Axa every year spends a minimum of 0.5% of the automobile net earned premium towards road safety campaigns and prevention actions. Axa is glad that to have got this great opportunity through Dubai Police to educate drivers the risks of the road. In fact, Axa would like to invite all inhabitants to join our hands together with Dubai Police to make our roads a safer place and reduce the number of road accident victims.
