Serco's Visit to DWC is part of its Emiratization campaign which aims at creating new jobs and initiating training and development programs for UAE Nationals.

The event was organized by DWC's Career Center in order to provide students and graduates with the opportunity to communicate directly with Serco and explore employment opportunities available at the company. DWC's Career Center launched this year the Employers' Week Program which grants government, semi-government, and private companies a week-long presence at the College through which they can provide students and graduates with presentations and other promotional activities focusing on employment with their organizations.

Dr. Aisha Bilkhair, Supervisor at DWC's Career Center, noted:
"We had an unprecedented response from employers once we launched the new Employers' Week initiative. We will continue to provide our loyal partners with top-quality services and programs that answer to their developing and fast-growing business needs."

Serco aims to transfer knowledge, best practice and succession planning to the local community through their Emiratisation Policy. The company established relationships with several top colleges and universities across the country to support and assist in the development of students and graduates by offering them internship programs. Serco also participated in numerous recruitment days at several colleges and universities including Dubai Men's College in order to raise awareness about opportunities available at Serco. Furthermore, Serco is involved in the annual UAE Careers Exhibition in Dubai and similar exhibitions in other emirates.

"Our participation in DWC's Employers' Week proved to be an important vehicle not just to promote the Dubai Metro Project but to meet and network with nationals and source potential candidates to fill a range of job opportunities within Serco. Students displayed substantial interest in the Dubai Metro project and we were glad to attend to many enquiries from interested candidates," said Fatma Salmin, Serco's Emiratisation Manager.

Serco Middle East offers numerous positions at various levels and disciplines including Engineering and Maintenance, Human Resources, Finance, Customer Service, Marketing and Public Relations, Operations and HSQE.

"Serco will offer the UAE Nationals recruits adequate training with a specifically designed training program we have already put in place. These extensive training programs and career development schemes are aimed to equip nationals with knowledge on railways and enhance their skills on a management and interpersonal level. This will go a long way to develop UAE nationals in the rail and transport industry and run the metro with local talent," said Adel Al Awadhi, Marketing Director for Dubai Metro.
