Qtel offers free landline connections for all of Qatar

Qatar will enjoy a more connected 2009, as leading telecommunications provider Qtel looks to offer a fixed landline connection for every home in the country.

Under a new campaign, which will run until February 28, 2009, Qtel will offer free connection and free rental fees for the first three months for any customer who wishes to install a new landline.

The direct savings for customers will be extended by Qtel's long-standing practice of providing free landline-to-landline local calls, which positions Qatar as one of the few nations in the region to enjoy such a service.

By increasing the affordability and accessibility of fixed landline connections, Qtel is extending its ongoing efforts to provide the highest standard and range of services to customers in Qatar. In 2008, Qtel has introduced a range of major innovations for mobile, broadband and entertainment services, responding to the country's diverse communication needs.

Adel Al Mutawa, Executive Director of Group Communications, said:
"The new campaign to provide a fixed landline for people across Qatar reinforces our strategic intention to provide the highest standards of communication technology at the most affordable prices. We believe this new promotion provides the right balance of cost savings and quality of service that people will really benefit from."

The total initial saving for customers taking advantage of this promotion is QR299. Free connection will save customers QR200, while three free months of line rental is worth QR99. These savings will be extended as customers benefit from free local landline calls.

Any existing Qtel customer, including Shahry pay monthly, landline, barQ ADSL, QCV or Mozaic TV+ customers, can simply call 111 to subscribe to this promotion. New arrivals in Qatar can apply at any of the conveniently-located Qtel Shops with a valid photocopy of their ID.
