Qurum City Centre celebrates official grand opening

Qurum City Centre, the beautiful and contemporary 20,600 square metre new mall located in the Qurum district of Muscat, Oman, celebrated its official grand opening with a spectacular VIP ribbon-cutting ceremony, presided over by Her Excellency Dr Rajha bint Abdulameer bin Ali, Minister of Tourism.

Her Excellency lauded Majid Al Futtaim for bringing, "Such strong retail concepts to Oman, and serving the people of Muscat with world-class choice and value".

In addition to the Minister of Tourism, the VIP ribbon cutting event was attended by government dignitaries, key contractors and suppliers, retailers and media, and celebrated the success of Qurum City Centre now that 72 of its 75 shops and restaurants are fully operational.

Hassan Jaboub, Qurum City Centre Mall Manager, said:
"Qurum City Centre has quickly become an important part of life in Muscat. In addition to employing hundreds of people, many of whom are local Omani, the mall offers a wide and diverse range of retail outlets, not least of all the Sultanates first H&M, Mango and Borders, which, when combined with all of the other retail options on offer, provide unbeatable choice and value, both of which make Qurum City Centre the first destination for many in the area."


According to Ahmed Bin Brek, Deputy CEO, Majid Al Futtaim Group, "Like many of the regional markets in which we are expanding, Oman's retail sector is growing at a tremendous pace with more and more customers eager to explore and shop at internationally recognised stores. With Qurum City Centre we are taking the next step in meeting this demand, raising the standard's set in shopping by offering the people of Qurum a wide and varied international range of fashion, food and beverage and service outlets."

As well as browsing in a huge variety of shops and restaurants, visitors can enjoy a whole host of services and amenities that aim to make shopping at Qurum City Centre a comfortable, convenient and enjoyable experience for all. These include eight ATM's, prayer rooms for men and women, currency change outlets, taxi services, wheelchairs and strollers for children.

Qurum City Centre, the second shopping mall in Oman from the Majid Al Futtaim Group, is strategically located in the heart of the local community at the Qurum roundabout. Visitors from the Ruwi and Muttrah areas can take the left turn from Qurum roundabout to enter the mall, while those coming from Al Hail and Seeb can either take the southern expressway, or take a right turn from Qurum roundabout.
