du's Senior VP Legal Affairs wins 2008 Corporate Counsel Award

du, the UAE's integrated telecom service provider, announced today that Anneliese Reinhold, Senior Vice President Legal Affairs, has won the prestigious 2008 Corporate Counsel Award in the 'Best In-House Counsel - Telecoms/media/IT sector' category for her significant achievements across the full spectrum of in-house responsibility.

Reinhold was selected from a large pool of nominations submitted by the legal community in response to an open call for nominations. The panel of judges for the 2008 Corporate Counsel Awards was Ewan Cameron, Managing Partner, Linklaters, Sadiq Jafar, Managing Partner, Hadef, Rindala Beydoun, Managing Partner, Latham & Watkins and Simon Crompton, Editor, International Financial Law Review.

The Dubai Corporate Counsel Group (DCCG) is the first group in-house counsel in the Middle East. Led by its 12-member Steering Committee, the DCCG has quickly established itself as a leading regional legal organisation.

The DCCG has more than 75 members and has established valuable partnerships with leading international and national law firms, executive search firms and publishers. The DCCG was created by in-house counsels coming together to promote the in-house practice of law in the Gulf.

About Anneliese Reinhold:
Anneliese is a senior telecoms lawyer with extensive international and regional telecom industry legal and regulatory experience.

Anneliese's career has provided her with extensive experience across all industry sectors (fixed, mobile, internet, Pay TV and satellite), spanning a wide range of international regions (Asia Pacific, UK/EU and Middle East).

Anneliese is the author of several papers and articles on broadband, wireless local area networking and mobile network issues such as SMS marketing, M-Commerce, codes of practice and the impact of new technologies and has been a regular speaker on telecoms legal and regulatory issues in Europe and the Middle East.

She is a graduate in both Law and Economics from the University of Melbourne, Australia and holds a Practising Certificate from the Law Society of New South Wales (Australia). In 1999, she undertook additional Economics studies at the London School of Economics Summer School, focussing on competition issues.


About du:
du, the integrated telecom service provider in the UAE, was awarded the second license to operate fixed and mobile telecommunications services in February 2006. The company launched its 'du' brand in the same month and listed 20% of its shares on the Dubai Financial Market in April 2006.

• du declared 'Best Brand' at Telecoms World Awards Middle East 2007 for innovative branding and outstanding brand success.

• Second place in the New Brand Launch category at the GMR Effectiveness in Marketing Awards 2007.

• Silver Award for the best website in the ICT category at the UAE Web Awards 2007.

• du WoW TV Commercial awarded amongst the best 50 TV commercials in mobile telecom category in the world for 2007.

• du corporate brand launch campaign awarded a Cristal MENA award in 2008.

• du won two prestigious awards at UAE Web Awards 2008. du e-shop portal won the best strategic online portal award in the e-commerce category and du's du media club website won the bronze award in the media and press category.
