Each blind participant will receive a lap top computer equipped with State-of-the-Art Hal screen reader. Hal enables blind users to have full access to computers and information systems. The event is hosted by Al-Awq Albasari Association in Buraidah today at 8:30 P.M. in King Abdulla's Sports City in Buraidah , Alqaseem in Saudi Arabia.

Prince Faisal Bin Misha'al and Dr. Yousif Alothaimeen, Minister of Social Affairs of Saudi Arabia, will attend the event as well as a number of dignitaries in the Kingdom. The equipment is funded and donated by Aljazeera Bank and supplied by Nattiq Technologies. Al-Awq Albasari Association conducted the successful training by employing blind trainers from the Kingdom. The Association trained and awarded hundreds of blind Saudi youths with similar equipment this year.

"Our goal is to provide every blind Saudi youth with Hal screen reader and a lap top as well as the required training to provide them with full access to computers",

Mr. Khaled Al-Mushaiqeh, the Association's Manager, said.

"thus far we were able to secure funds for equipment to give to hundreds of blind youths in Saudi Arabia. We have thousands of more users to serve", he added.

The training of blind Saudi youths on computers resulted in the emerging of astute users who started contributing to building the information society in the Kingdom. Many blind users have their own blogs and websites in an effort to contribute to their society as a thank you gesture thanks to Hal screen reader and the efforts of Al-Awk Albasari Association.
