Union Properties to hold Extraordinary General Assembly Jan 15

Union Properties PJSC (UP), one of the leading property developers in the United Arab Emirates has secured the Securities & Commodities Authority approval to hold an Extraordinary General Assembly (EGA) meeting on January 15, 2009 to approve the issuance Dhs2.5bn convertible bonds to be subscribed by strategic investors.

"The convertible bond will finance the rest of the Company's projects in MotorCity, including the F1-X themed park, that is expected to open towards the end of 2009," said Michael Jackson, the company's Chief Marketing Officer.

"Today we are pleased to have secured the necessary approval from the Securities & Commodities Authority to hold an EGA and as per the requirements we have placed notices to the shareholders in the local press to announce the meeting."
