Ms. Jane Henderson, their leader, said:
"This Promise ceremony was indeed a different experience for the Brownies and doing it on the ice made the important occasion even more memorable. The professional assistance of the Dubai Ice Rink staff immediately put the children at ease. They were encouraged to skate, much to their amazement and huge satisfaction. The event also contributed to the basic objective of the Brownie programme in building the personality traits of courage, helping each other and trying out new things."
Dubai Ice Rink is increasingly becoming a social hotspot for residents and visitors to Dubai. With 1.5 inches (38 mm) of ice - nearly three times the thickness of an NHL ice rink - the Olympic-sized attraction employs the latest technology to maintain the 'frozen ice' consistency in an indoor venue.
Ice Marshals are at hand at all times during public skating sessions to ensure customer safety, and a Zamboni - an ice resurfacing machine - is deployed across the rink every couple of hours to ensure top quality ice at all times.
Two-hour public skating sessions are on offer throughout the day every day, in addition to group visit packages and specialised 'Learn to Skate' programmes. Soon to be launched are Birthday Party Packages at Dubai Ice Rink and the venue is also available for exclusive hire for private functions and corporate events.
