"The founding committee moved to extend the deadline of applications from December 21, 2008 to January 1st in response to the increase in the number of applicants as the application drive gained momentum in the last few weeks. The 11-day extension still gives plenty of time to complete their requirements."
The Kuwait Science Fair is presented by ExxonMobil, Kuwait Energy Company, Kuwait Motor Sports Club, and the Scientific Center, encompassing over 150 high schools from across Kuwait. The competition aims to inspire young innovators and scientists in a competitive environment and attract them to pursue careers in the fields of science and engineering.
To generate support and attract student participation, ExxonMobil and the organizing committee have held workshops and introduction sessions in both public and private high schools across Kuwait, working with teachers and parents to inspire students to participate in the nationwide science fair. The Committee has also held weekly workshops at the Kuwait Scientific Center to guide students through the application and in preparing their science projects.
To qualify, students must be between the ages of 14-18, enrolled in a Kuwaiti high school, and must submit their science fair proposal form, application form, teacher support form, signed parent letter, which are available on the competition's website or from the Scientific Center along with a letter of confirmation from the school, a copy of the Civil ID or passport and 2 passport size photos before January 1, 2009.
