Over 50 volunteers participated in the clean up efforts, which took place surrounding the premises at Global Village.

Additionally, in cooperation with Emirates Environmental Group and Dulsco, a leading regional waste management specialists company, Global Village identified 11 major locations on its premises as main collection points in the park to ensure proper segregation processes are followed at collection points. These collection points will ensure that environmentally sustainable practices are applied in the waste management at the venue, and that the highest standards of hygiene are observed for the benefit of its guests.

The 13th edition of Global Village will run until 21 February, 2009 and witness the participation of 31 country pavilions. The event hosts an exciting schedule of activities and entertainment including 40 fun fair rides.
