Emaar, the Economic City hosts "eRAM Holding" and German "KraussMaffei" on tour of KAEC

Emaar, The Economic City (Emaar.E.C), the Tadawul-listed company developing King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC), hosted His Highness Prince Faisal Al-Saud, President & Chief Executive Officer, "eRAM Holding" Company, who accompanied a delegation of "KraussMaffei" Company, the global leader in manufacturing machinery for processing plastics, on a tour of the mega-project.

Dr Hosam Joma, Executive Director - Projects, and Mr. Joseph Killar, Chief Operations Officer, Emaar.E.C, welcomed His Highness Prince Faisal and the delegation, and presented an overview of the 168 million sq m mixed-use project.

"eRAM Holding" Company joined "KraussMaffei" Company in exploring the investment options in the Industrial Zone of KAEC, particularly the newly announced Plastics Valley.

His Highness Prince Faisal said:

The Industrial Zone and Plastics Valley are a promising investment destination. "KraussMaffei" Company, as the world's only solutions supplier with competencies in injection moulding, reaction processes and extrusion, can leverage on KAEC's central location for regional growth."


Dr Hosam Joma said: "King Abdullah Economic City has gained global investor interest as an investment destination in its various components, particularly, the Industrial Zone. The newly unveiled Plastics Valley is billed to be a hub for the region's plastics industry, and there is strong international interest in setting up full-fledged facilities here. The visit underscores the role that KAEC plays in facilitating powerful regional partnerships among businesses and in serving as a platform for implementing regional growth strategies."

Spread over 63 million sq metres, the Industrial Zone offers 4,400 net hectares of land for industries, plastics and light manufacturing facilities. The Zone will eventually host over 2,500 industrialists and entrepreneurs. Emaar.E.C has already signed a Memorandum of Understanding with StrateSphere Enterprises LLC (StrateSphere) in collaboration with PolymerOhio, Inc and the Saudi Arabian General Investment Authority (SAGIA), to develop the KAEC Plastics Valley as a regional centre of excellence in the plastics sector.

KAEC has six key zones: the Sea Port, Industrial Zone, Central Business District, Educational Zone, Resort District and Residential Communities. The first phase including the Industrial Zone, Sea Port and Residential Communities has been launched to strong investor response. Work is currently progressing as per schedule.

It will also be home to 2 million residents.
