The latest session of The Book Summary Review allowed the program participants to review and discuss with an audience the books "A Dream With a Deadline - Turning Strategy into Action" by Jacques Horovitz and Anne-Valerie Ohlsson-Corboz, and "Building Effective Teams (Leading from the Center)" published by Duke Corporate Education.
Adel Al Shared, CEO of MBRPLD, said:
"The two books offered new insights into strategic leadership, which were highly appreciated by the participants. The book 'A Dream With a Deadline - Turning Strategy into Action' provided practical advice on how to transform a vision into action, which the participants really found very helpful. The other reading activity for the book 'Building Effective Teams (Leading from the Center)' offered delightful insights on how to improve team management skills. With each passing reading activity, we can truly sense the gradual transformation of the participants as they are able to better internalise the key concepts and the important messages of each reading material."
Ahmad Hassan Ali Al Zaabi, a participant of Promising Leaders Program, said: "What makes The Book Summary Review a really effective activity is that it sharpens our ability to learn from our readings and helps us choose the books that best aid in enriching our experience and helps us work on our weaknesses that could impede our progress to become highly successful leaders."
The Promising Leaders Program is a level of MBRPLD that seeks to qualify young leaders through training programs and workshops in line with the strategic plans and aspirations of Dubai. MBRPLD has been established in line with the vision and directions of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai; the initiator of the MBRPLD initiative who has underscored the critical importance of a highly competent national professional workforce to ensure the country's global sustainability.
The applications for the program were submitted through MBRPLD`s website. Further details of the program and the evaluation process are also available on the website.
