Hajj 1429H Service Assurance a landmark of partnership between Huawei and Saudi Telecom

Huawei Technologies Co. Ltd. 'Huawei', the leader in providing next generation telecommunications network solutions for operators around the world, received today appreciation letter from Saudi Telecom Company to the Huawei Managed Service Operation covering the Hajj Event in Makah and Medina, the event is a major Muslim World annual event with over 3Million Muslims travel to this area to perform Hajj rituals.

Mobile services demand surge in this duration exerting a demand on network resources that exceeds 3 folds normal traffic stretching Radio, Core and VAS resources for continuous uninterrupted service.

Huawei's Network Services Solution for Hajj 'NSSH' is a tailor-made Network Service for Key Event (NSKE) solutions for STC, which is based on the history data of Hajj peak traffic, including mirror network testing and evaluation, preventive maintenance, real-time remote monitor, guaranteed STC subscribers' access to a multitude of services during Hajj, including voice, data and SMS services.

Based on the accumulated integrated network service experience, with the leading core network of industry, Huawei provides a controllable, manageable, foreseeable professional service solution to help STC to accurately forecast network tendency and fully optimize the network in time.

Zaid Al-Shabant, STC General Manager O&M, stated:
"Huawei products and service are provided with excellent performance responding to huge traffic demand on the network, some services traffic exceeded 5 folds that of normal traffic times. The service is delivered with well planned organization providing great support and an outstanding team spirit between STC and Huawei teams."


Preparation for the event started four months back in July with careful revision for the network structure and capacity, charting mass demand scenarios and response plans. During the event Huawei Services held operation stations in Hajj region, NOC and Back Office. R&D taskforce were in Saudi as well as in China to assure a smooth operation and a swift turnaround. Network infrastructure provided by Huawei did not exceed 55% of its overall capacity in this duration. Operation ran smoothly with no incidents of mention enabling continuous voice and data service coverage through out the event.

Wang Jia Ding, President of Huawei Middle East stated, "For the fourth consecutive year Huawei proved the value of partnership with STC through a successful management of Hajj event. Success in Hajj Event demonstrates the significance of our services to bridge complete solutions to our valuable customers."
