Beauty Vision Expo to bring together $2bn cosmetics sector in Abu Dhabi

Beauty Vision, the first-of-its-kind international trade fair for cosmetics, hair, packaging, pharmaceuticals, wellbeing and spas to be held early next year in Abu Dhabi, will bring together the $2bn-worth cosmetic and toiletry sector.

The exhibition, to be held at Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC) between February 3 and 5, 2009, will showcase top international brands from around the globe, according to Channels Exhibitions, the show organisers.

With five unique concepts, Beauty Vision will provide a complete overview of the beauty industry and providing an annual shop window and unique networking opportunity for key buyers and influencers from the whole of GCC, Asia, North Africa, for CIS states and the Indian subcontinent.

According to official statistics, sales of cosmetics and perfumes across Middle East touched $2.1bn last year with unparalleled growth trends. The consumption of cosmetics and perfumes in this region ranks among the highest per capita worldwide and the average purchase-estimates of beauty products in the region touch $350 per head. Beauty sector in the Middle East is growing at 12% every year and is set to be worth over $10bn per annum industry soon.

In the UAE alone, the cosmetics and personal care industry is valued at over $414m in 2006, according to Euromonitor International. The Emirati women spend Dhs1bn on beauty products every year.

He added: "There is an inherent growing market for cosmetics sector in the region, considering that nearly 50% of the population is younger than 20 and 60% are younger than 25. Abu Dhabi is a geographical gateway to the rest of the Middle East and also the fastest growing regions of Asia, Africa and Europe. This is a unique opportunity to tap into a collective population of over 3.2 billion people and a collective GDP of over $18 trillion."

The exhibition will showcase different concepts - Vision Pharma, Vision Retail, Vision Raw, Vision Hair and Vision Wellbeing. A unique Beauty Vision experience - Vision Match, Vision Concierge and Vision Lounge - will also be offered to exhibitors.

As part of Vision Match, Channels Exhibitions is sending every pre-registered visitor a personalized list of products and services, reports and schedules of meetings during the three-day show. Moreover, there will be demonstrations and product usage displays for a variety of hair and skincare solutions at the exhibition.
