United Eastern Medical partners with ParkwayHealth to manage Danat Al Emarat Hospital

Under the agreement, ParkwayHealth will provide clinical development services for Danat Al Emarat and will manage the hospital in accordance with the highest international standards for patient care and safety. This ground-breaking agreement is unprecedented as Danat Al Emarat will become the first private hospital in the UAE to be managed by an international operator.

With 30 years of experience in healthcare operations, ParkwayHealth has a solid and reputable portfolio of clinical management, operating 15 hospitals with over 3,600 beds across Asia. As one of Asia's leading healthcare providers, ParkwayHealth also has established a comprehensive range of clinical programmes, including Women & Children, which form the pillars of the wide spectrum of medical services offered by the organisation. ParkwayHealth will provide the perfect platform for Danat Al Emarat to achieve its mission of becoming a regional Centre of Excellence for Women's and Children's Health.

The partnership will result in continuous development of clinical programmes and quality improvement initiatives to ensure international standards and best practices are properly implemented. Collaboration between the two entities will be in the form of regular expert visits in order to asses and recommend plans to improve clinical services, mentor staff and consult on complex cases. In addition, ParkwayHealth will arrange for Danat Al Emarat clinicians to participate in video-conferencing and 'observership programmes' that will help develop close and supportive professional relationships between the teams.

With a completion date of 2011, Danat Al Emarat hospital will have 170 beds upon opening, with a maximum capacity of 260 beds. All rooms will be single occupancy with in-house entertainment services, wireless internet and in-room amenities. Unique facilities at the hospital will include 30 spacious labour, delivery and recovery (LDR) suites offering hotel-like comfort and convenience, a signature spa and wellness centre, a 100-seat auditorium and private classrooms for parenting and wellness classes. With a comprehensive range of medical services for women and children, world-class medical professionals, the latest medical equipment, outstanding facilities and various 5 star luxury amenities, Danat Al Emarat will raise the bar for patient care delivery standards in the Middle East.
