"We are pleased that Phase two of this new shopping development was completed on time for the holiday season. This adds a significant 1,000 square metre of retail space, which is now available for lease."
"We received a remarkable number of interests from several international names to bring their brands to the Abu Dhabi market. We are currently holding talks with them and we hope to have them on-board early next year," she added.
32 outlets are currently in operation and include popular brands such as Meat Co, Eight, Noodle House, Starbucks, Baskin Robins, Shangri-La Patisserie, Le Paradis de Fruit, Abdelwahab, Bateel, Damas, Pure Gold, La Marquise, Diamond Direct, Veneto, Adam and Eve, My Fair Lady, Al Makaweer, First Choice, La Perla, Obagi, Yateem, La Moda, Toshkana, Heritage Touch, Gallery One, Rawaj Al Oud, Nails and Souk b Souk.
Located between Maqtaa and Musaffah bridges in Abu Dhabi, the Souk is the latest among a string of projects being developed in the Qaryat Al Beri area, adjacent to the Shangri-La Hotel, Abu Dhabi. Qaryat Al Beri is one of the most distinguished waterfront projects in Abu Dhabi.
Built on two levels, the Souk is an interesting fusion of Arabian architecture with a Venetian theme. Water canals meander through the Souk and nearby properties with abras ferrying hotel guests from the Shangri-La to various locations.
Spread over a total floor area of 6,222 square metres comprising retail and F&B outlets, the Souk consists of several restaurants and coffee shops with alfresco dining terraces that overlook the waters and accord a view of the picturesque landscape. Well-known restaurants also serve international cuisine including Italian, Japanese, Arabic and Indian varieties.
"Since the opening of the Souk in October we've seen a good number of shoppers, particularly during the long Eid holidays. The Souk is proving to be a very popular destination for everyone in Abu Dhabi," noted Al Jaber.
