DPSC to conduct medical fitness tests for expatriates

The Abu Dhabi Health Services Company (SEHA) through its Ambulatory Healthcare Services (AHS) has announced that effective from January 1, 2009 the Medical Fitness Tests for residency visa in the Abu Dhabi, Al Ain & Western Region will be conducted exclusively at its Disease Prevention & Screening Centers (DPSCs).

DPSCs have been appointed as the sole authority to conduct this exercise by the Health Authority- Abu Dhabi (HAAD).

All expatriates who apply for new or renew residence/employment visas will be required to get their Medical Fitness Certificates from DPSC as a pre-requisite for their respective visas. The required documentation for new applicant includes photocopy of visa and passport; and just a passport copy and a medical request application for those approaching renewal.

"With the help of DPSCs, we intend to build a healthy environment and deliver quality and reliable healthcare services to the community", said Dr. John L. Evangelista, Director SEHA-AHS.

"This initiative promises to streamline the visa screening process, making it more accurate, efficient and beneficial to expatriates residing in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain & Western Region", said Dr. Zainab Khazaal, DPSCs Manager.

Dr. Salma Al Dhaheri , Head of DPSC Al Ain commented, "Our screening procedures will be transparent, user friendly and will ensure accuracy as well as timely delivery; we taken appropriate measures and scaled our facility to meet the projected increase in traffic".
