Instituted by the government of Dubai's Financial Audit Department, the aim of ITGAF is to aid and promote the development of I.T. Governance practices among government departments and state-owned enterprises, in accordance with leading international frameworks. The forum acknowledges that I.T. Governance is an integral part of Corporate Governance; and that truly effective I.T. Governance helps ensure that it supports business goals, maximizes business investment in technology, and appropriately manages I.T.-related opportunities and risks.
Endorsing ITGAF's objectives, the ITGAF award encourages establishments to build and practice matured I.T. processes as a fundamental step towards effective I.T. Governance. Recipients of the award demonstrate the inherent potential of using technology as a business enabler, both locally and internationally, while simultaneously ensuring that electronically disseminated business information is protected and the privacy of users is secured.
Ahmad Al Mulla, Vice President I.T. at Dubal, said:
"This award is a tribute to the visionary guidance of our management, coupled with the valuable contributions of our employees, towards our company's commitment to reaching and maintaining the highest standards of corporate and I.T. governance. This combination ensures continuous support for Dubal's ongoing pursuit of excellence."
