New year celebrations to reach its peak at Global Village

Global Village, a member of Tatweer Dubai and the prime tourism destination in Dubailand, promises its patrons great fun while ushering in the year 2009 with a colourful extravaganza of New Year celebrations.
The cultural shows at the World Culture Stage at Gate 1 will be extended from 6pm to 11:30pm. In here, the African, Nepali, Mexican, Emirati, Yemeni and Spanish dancers will showcase classic dance performances. To add to the excitement of cultural entertainment at Global Village, new shows will be staged from January 2, 2009, including Russian and Ukrainian dance shows, American Jazz and Broadway style of dancing, and the Columbian folk dance shows.
The countdown to New Year will be held by the lake where a spectacular fireworks display at midnight will announce a wonderful beginning to the year 2009. Fireworks will continue to entertain guests on New Year's Day and January 2, 2009, at 10pm.
Moreover, the fun does not stop with these festive activities. On the first day of 2009, children and families will certainly find so much at Global Village. Near the VIP Entrance (Gate 1), visitors will be welcomed with jugglers, unicyclists, stilt walkers, and children's magicians. This will add to the festive atmosphere at the venue.
Aside from these special activities, the Global Village also houses 31 pavilions and more than a hundred kiosks for shopping and dining. Plus, it has shows like Beach Adrenaline: The Jet-Ski Stunt show by the lake that provides thrills with exciting stunts from a team of internationally awarded jet-ski champions. Other key attractions include the gondolas, specially made for Global Village, which offer a remarkable scenic ride throughout the canal, and the fireworks display that brightens up the exciting night. End the year 2008 and begin the year 2009 with great fun and good times at Global Village.
