Envirosax reusable bags now available in Oman

Pomegranate, the contemporary gift store in Jawharat Shatti Mall, is this week introducing the Envirosax reusable shopping bag in a multitude of styles.

This pioneering Australian helps to protect the future of the planet through its stunning reusable bags, designed to reduce the amount of plastic bags causing untold damage to the environment.

Plastic shopping bags represent a huge threat to the environment, both in their manufacture, which produces toxic waste, and in their disposal in landfills. Over twelve million barrels of oil are used to make a year's supply of plastic bags in the USA alone. They are also lethal for animals ingesting or becoming entangled in the bags; over a million birds die each year as a result of mistaken consumption of plastic bags.

Susan Proctor, Manager of Pomegranate, says:
"It's a simple concept. We need to change our behavior and reduce the harm we cause the environment. Reusable bags are more likely to actually be reused if they are fashionable, strong and attractive. We believe that the residents of Oman have a strong eco-friendly instinct, going by our customers' reaction to our other recycled and solar-powered items. Envirosax is a move in the right direction: their product will make it easier for the environmentally-aware shopper to make a difference and help to preserve Oman's natural beauty."

Envirosax bags are lightweight, portable, waterproof and each one holds the equivalent of two supermarket plastic bags thanks to reinforced seams. They are compact enough to keep in a handbag and as such shoppers are more inclined to make use of them, rejecting the harmful and toxic plastic shopping bags that damage wildlife and clog landfills.
