'The Sport Leader', being the first activity of HBMPSLD, will dwell on the fundamentals of leadership, personal growth and success.

The topics that will be addressed include recognising weaknesses and overcoming them; achieving balance in life; recognising inherent personality types; priority and goal setting; and self discovery and leadership enrichment. The activity will also feature studying the characters and lives of successful leaders around the world.

Adel Al Shared, CEO of HBMPSLD, said:
"The main premise of 'The Sport Leader' activity is to help participants of the program fully understand themselves; their inherent strengths, talents and weaknesses, so that they can eventually realise their true potential as effective sports leaders. Through this activity participants will learn that there is no single formula to personal success, and that success can only be achieved through hard work and a relentless commitment to constantly improve."

Fawziyya Al Amri (a program participant) said, "I have been eagerly awaiting the commencement of activities of HBMPSLD and I am glad to know that the first activity being launched covers fundamental aspects of personality and leadership development. I am certain that this activity will benefit me tremendously in my quest for personal growth and leadership excellence."

The key objectives of HBMPSLD include ensuring a long-term systematised leadership development in sports; initiating changes for a progressive and productive sport society under the 'Change Agents Program'; convening an elite group of sports leaders to help participants in the program benefit from their experiences; sharing insights about individual leadership styles and values; and helping Dubai Government to successfully implement the Dubai Strategic Plan 2015.

The Mohammad Bin Rashid Programme for Leadership Development (MBRPLD) has been managing and coordinating the activities of HBMPSLD ever since it was initiated by the Dubai Sports Council. The candidates for the program submitted their applications through HBMPSLD's newly launched website www.dubaisportleaders.ae.
