Kuwait Emir honors a faculty member of Ajman University for winning Kuwait Award for Scientific Progress in arts

Prof. Radwan Al Daya, a faculty member at the College of Education and Basic Sciences in Ajman University of Science and Technology has won the Kuwait Award for Scientific Progress in arts for his distinguished contributions to literature, and Andalusian literature in particular.

H.H. Emir of Kuwait, Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al-Sabah, awarded the prize to Prof. Mohamed Radwan Al Daya on December 15 in a ceremony attended by a number of public figures and intellectuals, including the minister of Higher Education.

H.H. congratulated the winners and spoke about the impact of science and research in building the renaissance of the Arab and Islamic nation and praised the role of Arab scholars in achieving such renaissance.

The Award ceremony was followed by several activities: interviews with the winners by media means, meeting with the General Director of The Kuwait Foundation for Scientific Progress and the editor-in-chief of Kuwait Science Magazine. Prof. Al Daya attended an honorary invitation at the Syrian Embassy in Kuwait. He also gave a lecture at the House of Islamic Heritage on 'Patrimony, History and Literature' in the presence of eminent figures such as Sheikha Sabah Al-Salem Al-Sabah.

It is noteworthy that Prof. Al Daya is specialized in literature and Andalusian criticism. He has numerous contributions to Andalusian thought, poetry and criticism. He is described by many scholars and critics as representing a continuation of the school of great pioneers, such as Abdel Aziz Al-Ahwani and Ihsan Abbas.
