Oman Insurance Company organises blood donation camp

As part of the mega blood donation drive, Al Quoz branch of Oman Insurance Company (OIC) organised a Blood Donation Camp in association with the Al-Wasl Government Hospital on December 18, 2008.

OICs' staff, management and customers came forward and participated in this noble cause. The event exceeded its target and collected 80 units of blood.

Commenting on the company's initiative Abdul Muttalib Mustafa, Chief Executive Officer said:
"As a responsible corporate entity, OIC is deeply committed to the community. Given the continuous need for blood at hospitals and blood banks across the UAE, we thought it was essential to organise a Blood Donation Camp to fulfil our commitment to the community by contributing to the healthcare sector. As OIC moves ahead, we will continue to support such noble causes in the future."

OIC has been at the forefront of several such corporate social responsibility initiatives in the past, having organised Blood Donation Camps across its branches. Apart from collection of blood, the camp also increased awareness of the importance of voluntary blood donation to a large number of people. In addition to its commitment to increasing blood donation levels across the region, OIC also organises events and hosts seminars on the topic of risk awareness and protection in various sectors.
