Qatar banks tighten loan criteria

Due to forecasts of a worsening global recession, banks in Qatar are to adhere to strict guidelines in disbursing personal loans. Some banks have decided not to grant loans to residents who have only just arrived. Loan applicants now have to be resident for at least six months to be eligible. A number of banking entities are now also looking to raise the minimum salary limit for loan-seekers.
