Zain predicts 30% rise in 2009 profits

Kuwait's biggest mobile operator, Mobile Telecommunications Co (Zain) anticipates a 30% rise in net profits in 2009. Boosted by its overseas expansion strategy, 2009 net profits are set to rise to around KD413m ($1.49bn). Zain has expanded into 22 countries in the Middle East and Africa.
