Damas launches two new limited collections of unique timepieces

Damas, the leading international watch and jewellery retailer in the Middle East, launches two new limited collections of unique timepieces: The watch Challenge and the Dove of Football.

Tawhid Abdullah, Managing Director of Damas, said:
"Since its creation, Quinting has always pushed back the limits of the possible, exploring constantly territories which have been always considered by the high watchmaking world unattainable. Combining the traditional Swiss know-how of watchmaking to the expertise of leading edge technology, the Quinting watches bear no similarity to other watches and are worn by the most well known personalities of the world like Bill Clinton, Kofi Anan, Vladimir Putin or the members of the Swiss Government."


The watch Challenge is produced in the limited number of 60 unique timepieces. Quinting has created this collection on the demand of the famous racing car champion, Ange Barde, who holds an amazing prize list. A collector's item, this is the only watch in the world which can withstand all the constraints imposed by the most powerful racing cars.

The movement of this watch employs the leading edge technology of car racing due to the presence of a 'rubber contour' on the sapphire wheels which are then toothed - thus adhesion, precision as well as the life of the wheels are greatly enhanced. The watch also uses a unique system in the world, which readjusts the wheels of the chronograph counter and permits in case of shocks an automatic time reset of the watch.

Challenge also has a mechanism which permits to compensate the effects of gravity. The process, called 'invisible tourbillon' works due to the rotation of two movements which turn in opposite direction to compensate the effects of acceleration of racing cars. The watch is composed of metalized sapphires and has an anti-reflection treatment. The case back and the movement are engraved with an individual serial number from 1 to 60.

Meanwhile, the Dove of Football is produced in the limited edition of 192 unique timepieces which represent the number of UN countries. On each model is engraved the entrance number of the country into the famous organisation, characteristic which gives uniqueness to each model. Thus those who are passionate about football and also desire to participate in building a better world, will fall in love with it instantly.

The watch reminds all the football fans that this sport must stay a vector of peace and harmony between all countries. "The only thing which deserves fighting is the peace," is the message of Pascal Berclaz, President of Quinting. Through this watch, Quinting wishes to build a better world starting with the man who wears the Dove of Football. Two doves are engraved, one on the hour's sapphire, another one on the minute's sapphire.

These doves turn with different speeds and become one during one minute every hour, symbolising the perfect peace and also reminding its owner that it is worthwhile working and fighting during 59 minutes to have one minute of peace. Also what's unique about this watch is that every piece is engraved (on the side of the case) with the blood group of its owner because most of the time the history is written with blood.
