- PRESS RELEASE
Dubai Men's College contributed to the coordinated clean-up effort, the Clean-Up UAE four-day campaign last month.
Keen to take part in the initiative, forty participants from DMC, including students and teachers, went to the Al Khawaneej site where many others from different educational institutions and private companies were present.
The day started with a short opening ceremony that comprised of a short speech by the Chairperson of EEG, Ms Habiba Al Marashi followed by the Dubai police band display. The crowd was split into four groups; each was allocated to a different location where they received a glove and a bag for collection.
In less than an hour the DMC group managed to collect a huge pile of trash that consisted of glass bottles, cans, rope, plastic pipes, plastic bags and even car tyres. It was not only an enjoyable experience but also an encouraging one that developed a sense of responsibility and commitment among the team.
The beautiful weather and the community spirit that came with joining hands with people of all ages and nationalities towards a good cause, made this day a great success!
Clean-up UAE is an annual environmental campaign involving, colleges, companies and government departments. Participants clean certain areas as a symbolic initiative towards the environment. The Emirates Environmental Group this year selected areas that represent the natural and urban environments of the seven emirates.
The DMC contribution to this campaign sends an important message to raise environmental awareness and to reflect HCT commitment towards the community and the environment.
