The conference, organized by WAY Communications, takes place in Kuwait on Tuesday, January 6th and Wednesday, January 7th, 2009 at J.W. Marriot Hotel, and will highlight the importance of setting CSR standards and strategies appropriate to an individual business or organization.

Gulf Bank is deeply committed to its own CSR programme, and has invested in a number of events and sponsorships that have contributed to the building of a better and more prosperous Kuwait. Being involved in activities like the initiatives the Bank has supported for students at Kuwait University, or for special needs children at the Al Kharafi Activity Center are important. Gulf Bank confirmed that sponsoring the conference allows different organizations and individuals to both share experiences and learn from each other - something that can only grow and enhance the Bank's own outreach.

Supported by the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the conference will explore how CSR can significantly improve business performance and how it can and should be incorporated into company strategy and driven right through an organization. The conference, featuring eminent international and regional speakers will focus on three essential topics - Planning, Implementing and Reporting.

Furthermore, the conference will include training workshops designed to help delegates gain a greater understanding of the link between investment in CSR and business success, while also encouraging adoption of best practice solutions and approaches from around the world.

WAY Communications added: "Since 2006 Gulf Bank has been one of the most socially active organizations in Kuwait, with a focus on the development of the country's skills base and human resources. Through its own leadership role in the development of Kuwait's human resources, training and development programs and its support of important community and educational initiatives, Gulf Bank has shown its determination to play its part in helping future generations of Kuwaitis achieve their full potential."

Gulf Bank was established in 1960 and has since progressed to becoming an industry-leading financial services provider complemented by a large network of 45 branches strategically positioned in key locations in Kuwait. The main groups of the Bank are Retail, Corporate, Treasury and International Banking.
