Magic Planet launches UAE's first ever 4D ride

The XD Theatre at Magic Planet is an eight-seat virtual reality experience that is redefining entertainment boundaries by combining state-of-the-art graphics with a highly advanced motion platform.

The screen is the first-ever 4D venture to be installed in the UAE, and is proving to be a big hit with visitors seeking the ultimate in excitement with zero danger.

The new ride, based at the popular amusement centre, is providing exhilarating, edge-of-the-seat entertainment - all taking place in the safe confines of a comfortable cinema.

Those wishing to submit themselves to the white-knuckle entertainment now on offer at Magic Planet, can choose from three dramatic rides - the Haunted Mine, the Cosmic Coaster and the Jett and Jin Adventure.

Wearing specially provided spectacles that immerse the wearer in a three-dimensional action setting, passengers are transported on their chosen journey safely ensconced in seats that are secured to the floor, yet can still move up to 100 times per second to give an incredibly lifelike impression of frenetic travel.

Most motion cinemas subject customers to the equivalent of 1g of force while they are being simulated along their trip, but the XD Theatre uses patented technology to provide a 2g force and subsequent heart-in-the mouth sensations.

This feature is enhanced by a 'wind' that blows towards the seats, which heightens the feeling of high-speed transit. The whole package is one that adds up to an additional dimension - 4D as opposed to 3D - and provides an overall experience that has theatre-goers gripping their seats in excitement.

Silvio Leidtke, General Manager of Magic Planet, believes the new installation allows visitors an adrenaline-packed performance previously only experienced by individuals willing to subject themselves to an element of risk.
