Lufthansa Boeing 747 to grace Saudi skies

  • Saudi Arabia: Tuesday, December 11 - 2001 at 09:46
  • PRESS RELEASE

The increased passenger demand for excellence in quality, comfort, and safety, has been the driving force behind Lufthansa's decision to complement their existing services to the Kingdom with the introduction of Boeing 747-400 aircraft on the routes between December 4, 2001 and January 15, 2002.

"The introduction of the Boeing 747-400 to Riyadh and Jeddah is further evidence of the commitment Lufthansa has towards serving Saudi customers," said Uwe Wilck, the airline's general manager for Saudi Arabia, and director for Jordan, Lebanon, and Syria. "Travellers to and from the Kingdom will now experience even greater levels of comfort and convenience." The standard of comfort in the Boeing 747-400 is not typical of other first-class aircraft, he added, saying that all three classes of passengers would experience comfort above that of international standards.

"Saudi passengers are known for their high expectations of service," he continued. "Lufthansa is now leading the way by providing exactly what our customers demand." All of the airline's flights to Dammam, Jeddah and Riyadh in the Kingdom are currently served by Airbus A340 aircraft.

The Boeing 747 aircraft will help Lufthansa meet the demand for seats in all the three classes during the Eid Holidays.

"The upgraded service highlights Lufthansa's commitment to the Saudi market and it's tangible involvement in the ever growing trade exchange between Germany and the Kingdom," concluded Wilck.
