GE Healthcare's new diagnostic product lines are designed and engineered to address specific and varied needs of healthcare providers in line with GE Healthcare's "Early Health" prevention and pre-symptomatic disease detection initiative.

"We are very pleased to be a part of Arab Health again this year and privileged to present to industry experts, institutions and the public the latest GE Healthcare innovations and highlight our commitment to "Early Health." GE Healthcare is the only healthcare organization with the strength to bring together the best in science, technology, and business to redefine the frontiers of discovery, diagnosis, treatment and information management,"

said Aziz Koleilat, General Manager at GE Healthcare for the Middle East region.

Already at the forefront of providing transformational medical technologies that are shaping a new age of patient care, GE Healthcare is set to unveil its latest range of diagnostic imaging technologies and solutions at Arab Health 2009 in Dubai. "At Arab Health 2009, we are reiterating the importance of pre-symptomatic disease detection as an important driver in reducing mounting healthcare costs," added Koleilat.

GE Healthcare's focus of bringing to market new innovative diagnostic solutions has the potential to further enable healthcare professionals in the region, by increasing both diagnostic confidence and earlier disease detection. This can potentially help reduce healthcare costs and increase the efficiency of treatment, ultimately benefiting the patient. Several studies suggest that earlier detection of breast cancer, heart problems and osteoporosis, among other medical conditions, will potentially help save lives.

"Cardiovascular diseases, for example, are one of the concerns of the Middle East region alongside breast cancer," said Koleilat. "As populations grow older and with the rising trend of obesity, cardiovascular disease is an area that needs early risk stratification, and at least 80% of premature deaths from cardiovascular heart disease and strokes could be prevented through timely intervention."

GE Healthcare's innovative technologies, services and solutions will be on display at the GE pavilion during Arab Health 2009.
