This number is considered exceptional when compared to the number of subscribers of other telecommunication companies in the Middle East, and reflects the efficiency of Asiacell's large-scale operations and its unique coverage capabilities in delivering telecom services to all of Iraq.

Commenting on this achievement, Mr. Faruk Mustafa Rasool, Asiacell's founder and Chairman of the Board, said:
"We at Asiacell are pleased with our success in expanding our customer base, which comes in line with the company's growth and development aspirations on one hand, and our staff's efforts in serving the people of Iraq and catering to their communication needs on the other. We are very optimistic about the future, in which we expect to see further growth and expansion, and we have great faith in our dedicated staff, who are capable of overcoming challenges and difficulties at all levels to achieve the national mission and goals of Asiacell."

For his part, Dr. Diar Ahmad, CEO of Asiacell, said:
"We are proud to have achieved this very advanced position, which comes as a direct result of our efforts in supplying easy means of communications to the Iraqi people across the country. This achievement gives us a greater responsibility in meeting our ambitions to strengthen Asiacell's network, so that it may become the prime choice for mobile telecommunications services in Iraq."

"We will not stop at this point, but will do whatever we can to build on this success. The company is planning to expand its operations on the international level based on its internal capacities and its technical and human resources. Those capacities qualify Asiacell to take on an advanced position and to compete with other large international telecommunication companies, as we are driven by our ambition to achieve a significant added value and positive change in the telecommunications industry," Dr. Diar added.

Despite of the considerable daily security and economic challenges in Iraq, Asiacell is committed to fulfilling its role as a national company in rebuilding the country and in supporting Iraq's economic infrastructure in order to serve new economic sectors and to launch other services, such as the internet and many others.
