New year rings changes for GAC management

The turning of the year sees key personnel movement in global shipping, logistics and marine services provider GAC Group.
With nearly three decades of experience spanning shipping, logistics and offshore industries, Christer has been responsible for the conception and development of this new business area.
Bengt Ekstrand, moves to Singapore taking over Christer as Regional Director for Asia Pacific. Prior to this appointment, Bengt was the Regional Director for Middle East for over six years, and has held various management positions in Bahrain and Oman. Backed by over 25 years of experience, Bengt will focus on the effective and profitable management of local offices in Asia Pacific.
Replacing Bengt as Regional Director, Middle East is Dan Hjalmarsson. Backed by three decades in the shipping and logistics business, Dan brings to his new role over 11 years of local management experience in Dubai and Saudi Arabia with GAC. In addition to driving business growth, he seeks to create greater synergy across offices in the Middle East through sharing of information and maximising efficiency of shared resources as well as nurture staff development.
Moving from Nigeria to Dubai, Peter Bengtsson will fill Dan's position as Managing Director, GAC Dubai. Coming from a Merchant Navy background, Peter brings over 20 years of experiences in the shipping industry, of which he has spent the past five years with GAC as Managing Director in Singapore and Nigeria most recently.
Neale Proctor has taken over Peter's position as Managing Director, GAC Nigeria. Neale brings to the new position well-rounded and in-depth expertise built from a maritime career which has spanned nearly three decades. Prior to this posting, Neale was the Managing Director of PT Andhika GAC where he was responsible for GAC's shipping services across Indonesia. He was also instrumental in expanding GAC's P&I (Protection & Indemnity) representation network when he was the Regional P&I Manager in the Middle East.
