300 companies representing variety of humanitarian organisations are gathering in Dubai for humanitarian cause

Three hundred companies will be gathering in Dubai from the 7th - 9th of April 2009 to participate in the International Humanitarian Aid & Development Conference & Exhibition - DIHAD 2009.
The 300 showcasing companies specialised in supplying appropriate goods and services for disaster response operations, humanitarian aid projects and development programmes are from Denmark, France, Germany, Gibraltar, India, Jordan, Kuwait, Malaysia, Norway, Pakistan, Qatar, Slovenia, Sudan, Thailand, Taiwan, Turkey, UAE, UK and USA.
DIHAD 2009 is the largest humanitarian event in the Middle East, attended by key decision makers, procurement and logistics officials from leading international, regional & local NGOs, UN Agencies, Governmental Departments and international associations.
The event is held under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President, Prime Minister of United Arab Emirates, Ruler of Dubai, and organised by Index Conferences and Exhibitions Organisation Est. - member of INDEX Holding with the support of Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Humanitarian and Charity Est., the official support of the United Nations, the UAE Red Crescent Society, MBR, and the Red Crescent.
The organisers announced Qatar Charity as the platinum Sponsor for the DIHAD 2009 which is held for the 6th consecutive year. Humanitarian City and World Wide Shelters are two of the major companies taking part in this event at a time when Humanitarian solutions and initiatives are most needed.
DIHAD exhibition follows three main tracks; the transfer and sharing of knowledge through its presentations, debate and dialogue; the showcasing of new trends in operational support and supply services related to the assistance domain; and networking among local, regional and global players.
In 2009 DIHAD aims at contributing through dialogue on a number of pressing issues affecting the humanitarian domain and communities in need. It will also host the DIHAD 2009 Conference which is held under the theme "Empowering Communities: From Disaster to Development".
DIHAD 2009 consists of components which are part of an integrated concept that takes account of the latest trends and developments with the global assistance domain. It includes a high profile conference, an exhibition and interactive training sessions, which locates DIHAD way beyond any other traditional humanitarian exhibition.
The conference will be addressed by prominent speakers of the humanitarian industry who will engage through their interactive sessions to bring forth relevant humanitarian issue. It will also host interactive pre-conference workshops.
