Top seeds of the ATP Men's tour such as Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Andy Murray mingled with Qatar's high society at the VIP gala evening held in honour of all the players participating at the Qatar Tennis Open this year.

Alfardan Group, sponsors of the tournament and exclusive importers of BMW, which has been named the 'official car of the tournament', hosted the ceremony to honour players and officials who have supported the development of tennis in Qatar over the years, either through their participation in tournaments or behind-the-scenes work to promote the sport.

Mr. Ali Alfardan, Vice Chairman of the Alfardan Group, presented special gifts from Alfardan Jewellery to players like Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal, and Andy Murray in recognition of their repeated participation in the International Tennis tournaments which take place in Qatar. Alfardan also presented special gifts to officials in recognition of their successful playing careers and their contribution to tennis in the Gulf, including Tournament Director Karim Al Alami, who was the first Arab player to be internationally ranked and achieved a career-high rating of 22nd on the circuit, and President of the Qatar Tennis Federation, Mr. Nasser Ghanem Al Khulaifi, who has been the GCC Tennis champion.

Mr. Alfardan said:
"We are very proud to gather such a prestigious group of world-renowned tennis professionals and officials here to honour them for their hard work and commitment to the success of the Qatar Tennis Open. We look forward to sponsoring such prestigious sports events in the future and seeing further success for Qatari tennis."

The Qatar ExxonMobil Tennis Open continues until the 10th January at the Khalifa International Tennis & Squash Complex and offers $1,049,000 in prize money.
