83 violators nabbed from Dubai Central Vegetable market

Some 83 workers, who used the electric transformers room inside the Central Vegetable and Fruits Market in Warsan, have been nabbed in raids undertaken by Dubai Municipality in coordination with Dubai Police last week.

Khalifa Hareb, Director of Properties Department at Dubai Municipality, said the workers were using this room as well as telephone rooms and water pumping stations inside the market for sleeping.

"The raids have been carried in out in coordination with the Criminal Investigations Department of Dubai Police in order to prevent these workers from endangering their own lives and violating the rules for using public property," he said.

He noted that such raids would continue in future as well.
