Samsung's latest offerings include a new line of LED LCD HDTVs, the world's first Blu-ray home theater sound bar and a wireless projector that allows users to transform their mobile phone screen to a 50-inch viewing screen.

This year's offerings earned Samsung an unprecedented 46 CES Innovations Awards, reinforcing the company's leadership position in visual display, digital music players and home theater systems, while highlighting Samsung's growing commitment to environmentally-aware product development.

The result is a "second wave" of the Seamless Experience that Samsung unveiled in 2008, built on its "4Cs" approach to product development - content, creativity, connectivity and components. The next iteration is focused on the lifestyles of consumers themselves who face an overwhelming number of choices.

"CES represents the ideal platform for Samsung to launch and display our latest innovations and provide the consumer with the opportunity to experience the know-how of the most up-to-date designs of digital innovations,"

said Mr. SB Kim, President, Samsung Gulf Electronics.

"Samsung is committed to providing ground-breaking products bringing to our consumers not only new lifestyles but also the best in advanced technology to enhance their digital experiences. Our customers in the Middle East can expect to see these products available in the coming year." he added.

Raising the bar for flat-panel TVs Samsung has established a new stand-alone category in its family of HDTVs for 2009 with the creation of a lineup of LED TVs that will set new benchmarks for picture quality and energy efficiency. This year, Samsung will introduce a full lineup of LED TVs ranging from 40-55 inches that achieve previously un-reachable mega-contrast ratios.

All of Samsung's LED TVs contribute to the company's eco-friendly vision, consuming less than 40 percent of the power of standard CCFL-backlit LCD TVs, far below the stringent Energy Star version 3.0 requirements. The TVs use low electricity and contain no mercury, while the neck and stand are made of eco-friendly materials.

Included in this new line is the B6000, which is the slimmest of any LED TV on the market with tuner inside and features the world's slimmest wall mount solution that reduces the gap between the TV and the wall to less than 0.8 inches. Samsung's Series 6, 7, 8 and 9 LED TVs have all been selected for CES Innovation Awards.

CES 2009 marks a milestone in the partnership between Samsung and Yahoo! with the launch of the "Internet@TV - Content Service" on Samsung flat panel televisions that will allow users to enjoy a vast array of rich digital content through a series of widgets available. Samsung's 2009 Series 7, 8 and 9 LED, LCD and plasma TVs will support the new service, which can be accessed via either the built-in Ethernet port or using an optional Wi-Fi USB dongle.

Enhancing this experience is the introduction of the BD-P4600, the world's thinnest Blu-Ray player that features an auto-adjusting function designed to deliver the clearest possible picture quality on Samsung TVs. The BD-P4600 is the centerpiece of Samsung's most comprehensive Blu-ray lineup to date, featuring three stand-alone players and three home theater systems, including the HT-BD8200, the first Blu-ray home theater sound bar.

A Snapshot of what's on Display from Samsung Electronics at CES 2009

A new era for flat panel television

The new 8000, 7000 and 6000 Series build upon the success of Samsung's first and second generation LED HDTV models. These cutting-edge TVs use LEDs as their primary light source, rather than traditional Cold Cathode Fluorescent Lamps (CCFL). Benefits of using LEDs include ultra-high contrast ratios, slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings. In addition, a variety of state-of-the-art networking features give the ability to adapt to how consumers view and experience with shows, movies, games and other multimedia at home.

Latest 1080P LCD HDTVs

The LCD HDTV line-up is led by the Series 7, which is the company's first CCFL-backlit LCD TV with a 240Hz refresh rate. The Series 7 features a fast 240Hz refresh rate, a speed twice that of current 120Hz sets, and quadruple that of standard HDTVs. The refresh rate and a faster panel work together with Samsung's proprietary Auto Motion Plus 240Hz frame interpolation technology, to eliminate motion blur and judder with fast-action material, for stunning motion detail.

Award-winning Blu-ray players

Samsung's latest Blu-ray players include the world's first wall-mountable Blu-ray player, the BD-P4600, as well as the new standard for Blu-ray performance and versatility, the BD-P3600. Both players set a new direction for the Blu-ray category with wireless networking, access to video and music streaming services, such as Netflix and Pandora, as well as sleek designs.

World's first Blu-ray home theater sound bar
Focused on packaging powerful audio performance, the latest connectivity options and clean, yet sophisticated design, Samsung's 2009 home theater line-up offers a true variety of options to meet unique consumer preferences. The lineup includes the HT-BD8200 Blu-ray Home Theater Sound Bar, HT-BD7200 Blu-ray 2.1 channel Home Theater System, and the HT-BD1250 5.1 channel Blu-ray Home Theater System.

Samsung MBP200 Pico Projector enhances mobile experience

Compact and lightweight, the portable MBP200 can connect to mobile phones and laptops and by utilizing the DLP pico chip from Texas Instruments it allows users to transform their traditional two inch screen to a 50-inch viewing screen allowing others to share in the video experience. In addition, users can easily transfer files and project content independent of an attached source via the microSD card slot.

Samsung's first 3D monitor for gaming

The Samsung 2233RZ, which is compatible with Nvidia's new GeForce 3D Vision graphics card, boasts a refined, streamlined and unique design, in addition to its top-class performance, that consumers have come to expect from Samsung products. The 2233RZ, in conjunction with NVIDIA's advanced software, automatically converts over 350 games to stereoscopic 3D without the need for special game patches. High-tech active shutter glasses, designed with top-of-the-line optics, deliver double the resolution per eye and ultra-wide viewing angles than passive glasses.

World's First Camcorder to Feature a 64GB Internal SSD

Six new camcorders have been introduced at CES 2009, including the HMX-H106, its flagship full-HD camcorder that is the first to feature an internal 64GB solid-state drive, providing consumers with higher performing and more durable internal memory. Samsung also unveiled the SMX-F34, the company's next generation YouTube™ compatible compact digital camcorder.

Stylish, Ultra-slim digital cameras

Consisting of four new models, Samsung's new digital cameras run the gamut in terms of style and innovation and are designed for shooters of various skill levels and budgets. The new 10.2 mega-pixel HZ10W sets a new standard for the mega-zoom category, offering a high-performance, ultra-wide 24mm Schneider lens with 10x optical zoom that allows shooters to be more creative and flexible when taking digital images. At just 16.6mm thick (excluding the lens), the TL100 is the ideal solution for consumers in search of an easy-to-use, portable, pocket-sized digital camera.

Award-winning MP3 player

Samsung has added elements of look and feel to its newest portable multimedia player, the P3. At less than 0.4 inches thin, the P3 features a three-inch widescreen video player, studio-quality audio player, ultra-portable photo album, personal voice recorder and FM radio. In addition, the EmoTure™ interface with haptic feedback allows consumers to enjoy features such as swiping a finger across the screen to switch audio tracks or fast forward video.
