Khimji's Mart opens in Jalan Bani Bu-Ali

The directors of Khimji's Mart LLC were also present at the inaugural function. As part of their corporate social responsibility and commitment to supporting underprivileged sections of our society, the first day's sale proceeds of the new outlet, is being donated to the Social Support Committee ( for Orphans) managed by Oman Women's Association at Wilayat Jalan Bani Bu Ali; under the supervision of the Ministry of Social Development.

Khimji's Mart, Jalan Bani Bu Ali is the sixteenth supermarket of the Khimji's Retail Division. Khimji's Mart today is the largest chain of supermarkets in Oman, with six of them in the capital and the others in interior locations of the country. The quick growth in the hinterland over the last few years stems from the Group's strategy to consolidate its presence in the organized retail industry in Oman by opening outlets in both category 'A" and 'B' towns.

"The objectives of opening such stores has been two fold - firstly to provide consumer with convenient shopping in their native place but more importantly to generate employment for young Omani's. This helps not only in the employment but also in the development of the local economy,"

said Nailesh Khimji, Director, Khimji Ramdas.

Officials of Khimji's Mart underscored the fact that their supermarket is located in a central location and people living in wilayats of Ibra, Montrarib, Al Kamil, Barwani, Jalan Bani Bu Hassan etc. would also benefit from the opening of Khimji's Mart in Bu Ali.

The newly opened outlet spanning 20,000 sq. ft, houses a wide range of products catering to the daily needs of the consumers and giving them the best convenience and value for the entire needs of the family. The store provides not only the regular grocery products but also has a fresh produce section where you can buy fresh vegetables & fruits. There is also a separate section for meat and poultry products.

The group, which lays strong emphasis on Omanisation, has recruited and trained more than 25 young Omanis at Bu Ali outlet alone. These Omani nationals, for whom this is the first job assignment, were trained at Khimji's Training Institute, Darsait for a period of 6 months where they were taught the Basic English, Mathematics & Customer Service skills. The Ministry of Manpower has been appreciative of the efforts being put in by Khimji's Mart to train young Omanis to improve their employment capabilities.
