Dr. Ahmad Abu Ghanemeh, KAFA Project Manager, said:
"The media has a vital role in supporting KAFA Traffic Awareness Project, and the Royal Health Awareness Society depends on all media outlets to spread the message to the mass public, and raise public awareness on traffic-related issues for a safer Jordan."
It is good to note that each phase of the campaign will run for 3 consecutive months, and will tackle a different traffic-related topic. The current phase was chosen in accordance with Jordan Traffic Institute's 2007 traffic statistics which state that speed is the number one cause of accidents in Jordan, where the majority of accidents took place within areas restricted to 50, 60, 70km/hour.
KAFA is one of the Royal Health Awareness Society projects, launched by her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah in 2005, and aiming to spread traffic awareness between citizens and motivate individuals to drive responsibly.
