RTA allocates portion of Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights Project's proceeds to sponsor mass wedding of special needs

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) allocated Dhs200,000 from the proceeds of Dubai Metro Stations Naming Rights Project, contributed by the first batch of companies that won the international bid of this Project, to support the Mass Wedding of special needs persons.

The CEO of RTA Strategy and Corporate Support Services Sector, Abdul-Mohsen Ibrahim said:
"This imitative illustrates RTA concern with the noble gesture of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, to lend support to this humane event and bring happiness to this category. It also underscores the role played by government departments and organizations in shouldering their social responsibility. The interaction of various community segments with this event reflects the solid cohesion in the UAE social fabric and the respect paid to the Arabian and Islamic values and culture to realize the objectives intended from the mass wedding and send a message to the community highlighting the constructive role of special needs individuals."


Ibrahim added, "Sponsoring this event couldn't have come at a better time where Dubai is celebrating the third anniversary of the Accession Day of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, as Ruler of Dubai. So it is a double happiness adding to the festive mode currently witnessed by Dubai."

"The national mass wedding of special needs billed as "Hope Wedding" will witness the organization of more than 100 marriages organized for the third year running in response to an initiative to mark the third Accession Day of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum," he said.

"RTA attaches top priority to the projects and services directed to serve special need persons and created suitable environment for them in various transport modes such as Dubai Metro Project, roads, exempted parking, pedestrian crossings and public buses," Ibrahim pointed out.

"In response to the supreme directives of our wise leadership, RTA is providing every care to special needs, and provides them with suitable placements in order to merge them in the community and involve the community members in the production and development drive. RTA is the first government agency to implement the Cabinet Decision to provide transport services for this category and integrate it within the community by appointing three of them as data-entry staff and the fourth was appointed at the Corporate Support Services Sector and posted to Customer Service Centers Dep't," said Abdul-Mohsen in a final remark.
