The agreement was signed at the headquarters of the company by Mr. George Haddad, President of Al-Markazia and Mr. Maher Kaddoura, Founder of Hikmat Road Safety.

Commenting on the agreement, Mr. Haddad said: "Signing this agreement and participating in this motivated project come as a reflection of our company's policy and the responsibility it bears to take an active role in society and contribute to the safety of its citizens."

According to Mr. Haddad, the choice of Mecca Street was based on studies conducted in that area revealing the need for this pedestrian bridge, rails and warning signs, due to the high rate of traffic accidents in this street. Work on the bridge is to start in the next few days and will be completed in the beginning of next March, and it is expected to reduce the number of traffic accidents and increase safety on the roads.

For his part, Mr. Maher Kaddoura explained that: "This is a positive step taken by the private sector to demonstrate its understanding of its role in promoting the concept of safety on the roads." He also added: "We believe that this agreement is an important yet another stride in the process of reducing the number of potential accidents and increasing the level of safety on the roads in Jordan."

To conclude, Mr. Haddad said:
"Road safety is one of the most important issues affecting our society these days, and the responsibility must be cooperative not individual. We see that the private sector plays a key role in making a difference and in the development of traffic awareness among individuals, in addition to promoting a safe driving culture in Jordan."
