With the Dubai Shopping Festival approaching us soon, Mercato has announced its sponsorship for the 14th edition of the city-wide festival.
Between 15th January and 15th February, visitors can experience the Renaissance-themed Mercato transformed into a traditional Venetian carnival. Giant Venetian masks will embellish the wide atrium, while the arches will be adorned with rich theatrical drapes and ornamentation, telling a unique story of old Venice. In the evenings, there will be traditional Italian flag throwers, Venetian parades and the theatrical main stage at the ground floor will host an array of the daily shows, revealing a true Italian street festival atmosphere.
Adding to the spectacular events, is a spend-2-Win promotion that entitles customers spending AED200 or more to enter into a draw to win a selection of exciting prizes. Mercato and its sister mall, Town Centre Jumeirah, have teamed up to offer an array of rewarding prizes, exclusively for both malls. The grand prize is a brand new luxury 4 X 4 vehicle. Additionally there are 4 weekly prize holidays for two to see the Venice Carnival in Italy, courtesy of The Holiday Lounge by Dnata at Mercato, and there will be daily gift prizes throughout the festival sponsored by various Mercato and Town Centre Jumeirah outlets.
"This unique social event is an ideal opportunity to get together with friends, family and colleagues. Throughout the Carnevale, both malls will be alive with entertainment specially flown in from Italy and shoppers are invited to enjoy a typical Italian comedy show called 'Commedia D'Elle Arte'" said Rana Jaser, PR & Corporate Communications Manager of Mercato and Town Centre Jumeirah.
Not to be missed is the Masquerade Museum in the Porto Vecchio Village at the first floor - sponsored by Trend House. Wander through the display of masks and get a better understanding of the Venetian Carnevale and the age-old culture of masks.
