With over twenty years of professional experience in both the private and public sectors, El Mikawi is expected to bring a new perspective to the company. Working most recently as the General Manager of the Aga Khan Trust for Culture, a position he held for almost nine years, El Mikawi was responsible for the design, construction, finance and operations of several projects which included important renovation projects in Cairo's historic district.
"We are delighted to welcome Mohamed El Mikawi on board, and believe he will be a huge asset to Cairo Festival City. His extensive knowledge of our industry makes him the perfect candidate for the position and we are already enjoying the fresh input he is bringing to our team in their vision for this mixed-use development project." said Neil Palmer the Group Director of AFGRE.
Commenting on his recent appointment Mohamed El Mikawi said:
"I am honoured to have been selected for this position and look forward to the opportunities that such a prestigious position offers. I am confident that my experience in the industry will allow me to excel."
This privately funded project is Al Futtaim's second flagship project in the region. Located in New Cairo City, upon its expected completion in 2018, Cairo Festival City will be home to over 13,000 residents in villas and apartments and be a place of work for 50,000 office staff. The mixed-use development is already home to the American International School, which opened in 2005, as well as the automotive park, which houses Honda and Toyota showrooms.
