"The economic slowdown has put at least a temporary stop to the commodity bull market sending prices down and we are no exception. Although Middle East is experiencing the spill-over effects of sub-prime crisis, launching of affordable products and efficient credit management are essential for companies like BenQ to avoid running into rough waters,"

said Manish Bakshi, General Manager, BenQ Middle East and Africa.

The recently launched BenQ 'Joybook Lite U101' netbook, already an instant hit amongst regional consumers, is now available at an affordable rate. The Joybook Lite is aimed at a range of consumers from students to business travellers. Overall, notebooks are viewed by the industry certainly not as a laptop replacement but more of a companion device.

Joybook Lite U101 is the market's first netbook to adopt a 10.1", 16:9 wide LED energy-saving screen, offering users the perfect native aspect ratio to enjoy video content without black bars and distortion. With a 8ms fast response time, users no longer need to endure ghosting or motion blur around picture edges; instead, they are able to relish the best video entertainment experience while on-the-go, claims BenQ.

With 100% pixel-for-pixel rendering of Full HD video sources and their 16:9 aspect ratio, BenQ's M and E LCD monitor series including M2200HD/M2200HDA, M2400HD, E2200HD/E2200HDA, and E2400HD deliver a premium viewing experience. They display 1080p content such as Blu-ray movies and console games in their full glory, without cropping, stretching, blurring or the need to resize or impose annoying black bars as required by 16:10 monitors.

BenQ's short-throw projectors offer added convenience, and a new source of fun for the family, by enabling projector use in spaces where it had once been impractical. These models use a unique aspherical lens to project a larger image from a shorter distance without compromising picture quality. The MP512ST, ideal for home entertainment with wii, PS3, X-Box, and MP522ST, designed for small businesses, can display a 55" picture from just a meter away—an image four times larger than produced by conventional projectors from the same distance.
