DPSCs, as recently announced by SEHA-AHS, were appointed by the Health Authority of Abu Dhabi (HAAD) as the sole authority to conduct Medical Fitness Tests for residency visas in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Western Region with effect from 2009.

In line with the demanding metrics of the initiative, DPSCs have recently extended their operating hours from 7am to 7pm daily and have been operational through Friday and Saturday to meet with added expatriate traffic.

Dr. Zainab Khazal, Manager - DPSCs, SEHA-AHS, said:
"The influx of expatriates has been immense at all four facilities and we have successfully conducted the screening processes and issued certificates to 13000 applicants, within the stipulated 24 hours of the examination."

"It has been challenging as we were faced with a slight overflow and needed to process a 10 day volume within 8 days. We request companies to abide by the appointment schedules and follow the process we have explained within all our communications that include emails, letters, sms and our call centre. This would ensure convenience for them as well as others," she added.

"The number of applicants will only grow further, and we are in the process of constant enhancement. We have our mobile clinics planned for the mid of this year which is expected to substantially increase our screening capacity," she concluded.

DPSCs are taking all measures to ensure that the Screening Process now include physical examination, blood test, vaccination for specific categories that include servants, nursemaids, housemaids, babysitters, private drivers, health club workers, beauticians, barbers and food handlers, and X-Ray.
