Royal Aviation chooses Sheikh Saad for its terminal building

Royal Aviation Chairman Mr. Mubarak Al Mascati announced that the name of the Royal Aviation Terminal Building will forthwith be changed to the Sheikh Saad General Aviation Terminal, in commemoration of the Father Emir Sheikh Saad Al Abdullah.

The decision was taken unanimously by the board of directors and governmental authorities to take effect from January 2009.

The Sheikh Saad terminal is the first of its kind in Kuwait, and one of the country's landmark projects. It is fully equipped to handle all types of private aircraft, and is equipped with all the facilities needed to provide their clients with the highest possible level of service.

Mr. Mubarak Al Mascati commented:
"Sheikh Saad was a very dear and important figure to all Kuwaitis and we believe that we have a clear responsibility to live up to his name and deliver the best possible standard in aviation through the terminal. It is a matter of pride for us both as Kuwaitis and business people."

For the first time in its history, the airport will also have scheduled flights operating out of the Sheik Saad Terminal. Wataniya Airways, Kuwait's newest luxury premium airline will commence operations on the 24th of January and exclusively use the Sheaik Saad Terminal.

The building is designed to provide premium services in an overall area of 130 thousand square meters, built to an estimated cost of KD16m.

Maskati added, "The aim of establishing the Sheikh Saad General Aviation Terminal is to elevate the level of service in the aviation sector in Kuwait and deliver in accordance with internationally-adopted requirements of quality."

The airport is also equipped with all necessary governmental services including passport control, customs and security.
