As part of a strategy to develop awareness and take environmental issues into account, the Lorraine region is developing, backing and supporting innovative projects in renewable energies (wind/biomass: wood, straw, methanisation/solar); waste recycling, and coordinated and balanced water management programmes.
Bordering Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany, this region is exceptionally open to the European Union and has built up a remarkable range of services, opening itself up to modern industries such as the environment, but also the automobile industry, logistics, electric and electronic construction, plastics processing, chemistry, health, fibres, communication and information technologies, food processing, and the wood-paper-cardboard industry.
At the trade fair, CCI International Lorraine will demonstrate its expertise alongside innovative companies that are emblematic of a strong commitment to the environment, such as 'SAINT-GOBAIN PAM'_ (complete ductile iron pipeline systems and solutions for hydraulic networks), 'ER INGENIERIE' (special machines for water and air treatment, industrial and environmental facilities), 'FAR INGENIERIE' (machines for treating oily fluids and for cross-flow filtration) or 'MICROHUMUS LABORATOIRE' (compost and soil analysis).
CCI International Lorraine brings together the export divisions of the Chambers of Commerce and Industry of the region's 4 counties (Meurthe-et-Moselle, Moselle, Vosges, Meuse), forming a team of 23 staff members, 10 of whom are based overseas in Dubai (UAE), Algiers (Algeria), Casablanca (Morocco), Moscow (Russia) and Tbilisi (Georgia).
This entity which is specialised in international trade and devoted to advising and assisting SMEs with their international development plans, has opened up a liaison office in Dubai since 2005. This office is set up on the premises of the French Business Council for Dubai and Northern Emirates and guarantees a permanent presence in the emirates.
