Mr. Kwon comes to W Doha with nine years of hospitality expertise and food and beverage experience in the restaurant industry including management, development and public relations skills.
He has spent much of this time in supervisory, operations management and training capacities at the W Seoul Walkerhill in Seoul, Korea, where he was an opening staff member of this renowned and trendsetting Starwood hotel. Mr. Kwon also has extensive knowledge of international conventions and gala functions management in addition to broad quality and standards skills. At W Seoul Walkerhill, Mr. Kwon, in addition to his other duties, organized monthly special events such as wine tastings and adventurous evenings such as unique New Year's Eve dinners and "101 Things to Taste Before You Die."
Speaking of his appointment at the first W Hotel and Residences in the Middle East, Mr. Kwon said:

Mr. Kwon holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in International Hospitality and Tourism Management from the University of Bournemouth, England, and a diploma in Hotel Management from the International Hotel and Tourism Training Institute of Switzerland.
Market by Jean-Georges is one of two Jean-Georges Vongerichten concept restaurants in the W Hotel and Residences slated to open early this year. Market by Jean-Georges will feature international cuisine that celebrates Arabian flavors in an atmosphere of contemporary, casual elegance. The menu is a modern take on comfort food and will focus on fresh local produce and ingredients created in an open kitchen such as Crispy Calamari with Lemon-Basil Dip and Black Truffle and Fontina Cheese Pizza.
